Let’s pretend we’re meeting in person…
While we wait in line at the local bakery for a bagel and coffee on a gorgeous Tuesday morning in October because that’s a lovely dream. Right? You’ve got your babies (triplets) with you, two in a stroller and one wrapped tightly to you in a carrier.
You’re wiggling the stroller back and forth, trying to get the babies to fall asleep. One starts to cry, and you tense up because you don’t want to have to leave the bakery. You didn’t sleep well last night, and neither did the babies, but you were going stir-crazy in your house and had to get out. And you want to stay at the bakery to be around other people.
Seeing that you’ve got your hands full, I introduce myself and ask if I can order for you. You sheepishly concede, and I tell you to grab a seat, and I’ll bring your coffee over. I recommend going outside because the fresh air will likely calm the babies and your nerves.
When I bring you the coffee, you thank me and indicate that you feel exhausted. I tell you that I love supporting parents who are worn out and burned out, and I specialize in working with families who have multiple children. Eyes widening, you ask if I have time to sit and tell you more about what I do. I gladly take over the stroller rocking job as you sip your coffee and I begin telling you about my work.
Then, we talk about how I help families.
What you find out is that I work one on one with a handful of clients each month, giving them and their families personalized attention. Clients might be like you, with infant triplets who seem never to sleep simultaneously.
Others may have a three-year-old who is difficult to potty train or a five-year-old who explodes in anger when you tell them it’s time to get dressed for school. Perhaps, you have a three-year-old who won’t stay in his bed at night and refuses to eat what you make him for dinner. And he’s not an only child – you have your hands full with a one-year-old and a baby on the way.
Your home should be a haven for you and your family. If you feel like something’s off – I BELIEVE YOU. No matter your situation, I will facilitate an initial call to hear about the problem you’re experiencing.
From there, you get to ask me questions, and we decide if we can work together. Then, we schedule an initial consult, and I create a plan detailing goals and how we’ll achieve them.
About Me
Helping families is my primary focus.
In a world of constant input, advice, and hurry, I long to see simplicity, peace, joy, and rest infused into homes. My mission is to nurture families – to empower you, the parent, to care for your children and connect with others.
This desire to help families is so personal and springs from being the oldest of five children, watching what worked in my own and other families – and what didn’t. I was the in-demand babysitter as a teen, and in college, and after college, I began my career as a nanny to a family with quadruplets.
Essentially, these experiences laid the incredible groundwork for my time with families. As a result, I already had years of first-hand experience with children when I began teaching and consulting with families. In addition to those early opportunities, I have worked in homes and schools as a kindergarten teacher, early intervention specialist, and sleep consultant.
Earlier experience is backed-up by professional training.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Education in Human Development and Learning. I am a Certified Infant and Pediatric Sleep Consultant, a trained Parent Educator through Parents as Teachers, and a DONA-trained Postpartum Doula.
When I’m not consulting with families…
…you can find me painting with watercolors, playing outside, cooking something in my kitchen, or roaming the aisles of a local gardening store just for fun.
Reach out with any questions. I can’t wait to get to know your family!
