Can you identify with any of these families?
Maggie* contacted me because her two-year-old was throwing BIG tantrums, and she didn’t know what else to do. Her son would be playing happily and then seemingly switch, knock his block tower over, and run from Maggie. It would take an hour for him to calm down, causing Maggie to feel exhausted and in tears after these outbursts.
Heather’s* and Jake’s* three-year-old girl, Olivia*, had been in and out of the hospital battling leukemia for the first two years of her life. The combination of COVID-19 and Olivia’s weakened immune system meant that Olivia had never been able to play with other children when she was ready for preschool.
Naturally, this resulted in some frustrating moments and lots of misunderstandings between Oliva’s parents, teachers, and administrators when Olivia would hit another child, take others’ toys, climb on the tables, and seemingly not hear the teacher’s directions. The parents of other children in the class started complaining, and the school asked Olivia’s parents to find another preschool for her.
Tom* called me one evening at his wit’s end because his five-year-old would not clean up his room, sleep in his bed, or eat food prepared for him.
Parenting support helped find a resolution.
I worked with each of these families to help them understand their children’s growing and changing needs, general child development, and how to practically apply that knowledge to their everyday life with their children.
During our time together, we created new routines for their days based on their unique goals and their children’s specialized needs.
In two of the above examples, I also worked as a bridge between the home and school environments, ultimately advocating for the child. I helped the school understand the child’s story more fully and helped the parents understand what was happening at school and what could be changed to minimize frustration.
Proper support can help you and your child.
My goal is to save you time, money, and stress, and I have a network of other professionals to refer you to if needed.
If you can relate to any of these stories, my hope for you is that you don’t sit in that spot alone anymore.
After working with me, parents report a greater understanding of their child, more substantial confidence in their ability to parent, and a renewed hope for the future.
It would be an honor to support your family in receiving these benefits. Reach out today!
