Multiples bring joy and challenges.
You gave birth to more than one baby! What an exciting and scary thing. Pregnancy with multiples brings additional risks, and you must plan for birth and postpartum differently.
Friends and family are excited for twice, triple, quadruple – or more times the cuteness! You feel excited, too, but the responsibility is stressful.
There are many details to consider – ensuring you’re getting the proper nutrients to nourish you and the babies, the extra pain and strain of carrying more baby weight, and the fatigue.
In addition, you must plan for what you need to care for the babies well after they arrive, including creating a registry, furnishing the nursery, and preparing for feeding and sleep after the babies are born. Another primary consideration is the expense of it all.
All these added concerns can feel mind-boggling and stressful.
Going it alone is not easy.
Can you deal with the challenges of multiples all on your own? You can try, but some things can make life more difficult. Here are a few issues to consider.
There are many choices of strollers for multiple babies. You research strollers and buy one that was marketed well but later realize down the road that it’s not comfortable to push for as many walks as you like to go on to keep your sanity.
Highchairs with all the bells and whistles seem fantastic, so you purchase one. Later, you realize it’s a pain to clean – especially when you’re doing it four times per feeding. You try the Ferber method for sleep and feel just as exhausted. Then, you start trying all sorts of things that work for one baby but not all babies.
Loving and caring family and friends shower you with awesome toys, but you end up with toddlers and a cluttered play area that rarely gets used. You start potty training, and it takes a year. Your plans for sleep wax and wane, and you have toddlers who sleep with you – when you don’t like the idea.
Coaching helps make managing multiples less stressful.
Coaching can save you time, money, and stress as you navigate through the first few years of life with multiples. Through coaching, you can develop ways to meet those challenges.
While working together, we will find the best solutions to your problems, whether they involve finding ways to provide for your multiples or developing procedures that allow for more sleep and less hassle for you and your children.
I have walked with many parents of multiple children through the prenatal period and the first five years after the babies are born, and I would love to support your family as well.
